Where Did it All Begin?
Every company has an origin story, and we’re proud of ours. ActiveWin began in 2013 as the digital marketing division of one of the UK’s biggest business success stories, Betfred. The gambling industry is incredibly competitive and (quite rightly) highly regulated. ActiveWin successfully managed the challenges that this presents across a full suite of digital marketing services: media buying, paid search, paid social, PR, SEO, customer service and affiliate marketing.
Our marketing teams took Betfred to the forefront of the gambling industry and kept it there. We leveraged the experience garnered in this space to win clients in other industries where brands were struggling to make digital marketing work for them. Industries like fintech, medical, property and travel.
The results we achieved took ActiveWin to new heights. From a team of three in 2013, our company grew to over 100-strong by 2020, when we won ‘Digital Marketing Company of the Year’ for the second year running at the Northern Digital Awards. These days, lots of agencies promote themselves as award-winning, but being recognised two years in a row is no mean feat.
Our people have navigated a radically changing digital landscape over the past decade. We’ve worked resiliently and continued to thrive through pandemics, recessions and transformations. How? By being digitally driven.
Digitally Driven
It’s our ethos. ActiveWin founder Warren Jacobs likes his cars. A lot. Visit our Ancoats office and you’ll find ornaments like an F1 nose cone, and a coffee table made out of a V12 engine.
